What happens after you fill out an application?
Your application will be reviewed within 48-72 hours after submission. Please note that there may be more than one application pending for an animal. It is our responsibility to review all applications to find the best forever home for each animal in our care. Once again, the application process may take at least a week to complete. We try our best as a volunteer organization to process applications in a professional and timely manner. However with everything being handled by volunteers in their spare time, sometimes the review process could take a little longer.
If your application is approved for adoption there are a few steps that we will go through.
Step One: A volunteer will call you to talk about the possible adoption. The family will be invited to meet the animal of their choice at the foster home, the applicant's home, or at a neutral site like PetSmart, Petco, or a park. The visit will be scheduled at the convenience of the foster parent. A visitation does not guarantee that the adoption will be approved. It is just a part of the application process. After the visit, a volunteer will reach out to the applicant within 24-hours. During this time, the applicant has the opportunity to carefully consider all aspects of the adoption. We do this to help people avoid making a rash decision and be able to take the time to weigh all the options of bringing a new pet home.
Step Two: If the adoption is approved, a time will be scheduled for you to pick up your new animal. At this time you will be asked to sign our Adoption Contract and will receive a copy of your animals health/vaccination record. A copy of the contract will be given to you at time of adoption as well
