Adoption

ADOPTION PROCESS

Thank you for considering adoption, and saving a life! FurEver Friends invites the entire family to participate in this important decision, including children, and the fur-kids. Adopters interested in a dog are encouraged to bring the fur-kids for an introduction.

Our team team of volunteers is excited to guide you in choosing a pet, share information about their history and behavior, and provide resources. Finding a great match can take time. It’s our responsibility to review all applications to find the best furever home for each animal in our care. Your application will be reviewed within 48-72 hours after submission. For more information or questions, your message will be sent to our: Adoption Coordinator

Application Approval

We have have found it necessary to lay out the following steps, in order to get a better insight into you and your family. We do this to help potential adopters avoid making a rash decision and allow everyone to take the time to weigh all the options before bringing a new pet home.

Step One:  Upon application approval for adoption, a volunteer will call you to talk about the possible adoption, and schedule a visitation. The adopters will be invited to meet the animal of their choice at the foster home, the applicant’s home, or at a neutral site (ex: PetSmart, Petco, or a park).  The visit will be scheduled at the convenience of the foster parent. Visitation does not guarantee that the adoption will be approved. After the visit, a volunteer will reach out to the applicant within 24-hours.  During this time, the applicant has the opportunity to carefully consider all aspects of the adoption.

Step Two: If the adoption is approved, a time will be scheduled for you to pick up your new family member.  At this time you will be asked to sign our Adoption Contract and you will receive a copy of the animals health/vaccination record.

Application Form

We’d love to help you find your fur-friend! Please answer a few questions to help us find your prefect match. We don’t mean to insult anyone or invade anyone’s privacy, but based on experience, these questions we ask on our adoption application are necessary.
